Something Yum!

Cottage Pudding is a family favorite for a winter time treat.

Dinette Cake
1/3 cup softened butter
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
¾ cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
1¼ cups white flour
Mix ingredients together in a large bowl. Beat for 30 seconds on low speed and then on high for 3 minutes. Pour into greased and floured 8" square cake pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30-40 minutes.

Butter Sauce
½ cup butter
1 cup sugar
¼ cup milk or half and half
Combine ingredients in a sauce pan and cook over low heat stirring constantly until smooth.

To Serve:
Cut the Dinette Cake into serving pieces. Puncture each piece a few times with a fork. Spoon Butter Sauce over the top of servings for a very rich and delicious dessert. Yumm!
